Tools

Every tool works in both the 2D and 3D views. Radius, strength, brush shape and rotation are adjustable, with optional altitude, slope and material constraints.

Press Escape to go back to the Hand tool at any time.

Hand

Moves the view (pan) in 2D and 3D.

Terrain sculpting

Raise / Lower

Raises or lowers the heightmap under the brush.

Smooth

Smooths heights locally.

Flatten

Levels the terrain toward the height where the stroke started.

Painting

Paint

Paints the active layer (material, cover, object, resource or biome).

Spray can

Paints with a probabilistic spray. The draw is deterministic, so passing again over the same cells gives the same result.

Eraser

Erases the active layer under the brush. With no active layer selected, it becomes a master eraser and clears every layer.

Eyedropper

Reads what sits under the cursor and sets it as the active layer.

Left clickOpen a popup listing the material / cover under the cursor

Global painter

Applies the active layer to the entire map, after a confirmation dialog.

Fluids

Flood fill

Fills a connected basin with water or lava (fluid selectable in the tool options) up to the clicked level.

Right clickLower the water level of the clicked area

Water has a global level and an optional per-cell override; a cell's effective level is the higher of the two.

Sponge

Removes the local fluid from a contiguous area.

River

Draws a river as a curve with free control points, then carves the bed and lays the water in one go. Each point has width and depth handles.

Selection & clipboard

Select

Builds a cell selection with three shapes: rectangle, circle or lasso. The selection also acts as an edit mask: while active, other tools only apply inside it.

Copy

Copies the selected zone. A popup asks what to copy (heights, layers, water…), then the tool switches to paste mode.

Objects

Place object

Places schematics one by one from the active object layer, with a translation gizmo. The selected object renders as a voxel ghost until confirmed.

Utilities

Spawn point

Sets the player spawn point of the exported world.

Right clickReset the spawn to the map center

Ruler

Measures distances between two points. Several measurements can coexist.

Right clickClear all measurements
DeleteRemove the selected point

Annotation

Paints colored working notes over the map (rectangle, circle, lasso or text). Annotations are never exported.
